Yes. Powdercoat is best to prevent excessive fouling. I've shot 1000's of 245grn bullets.

excessive what?

I shoot from 100 to 230 [or whatever the LEE weighs] grain boolits in a couple of 300's.
some are tumble lubed with my version of 45/45/10 lube and many are just plain ol cast boolits poking along in the 1400 fps area.
my 7 twist AAC seems to like them pushed pretty fast, and the wifes ruger does just about as well with the heavies pushed along to 'pop' noise levels as it does [dunno what her twist rate is nor care]
I still have a couple of molds to run through the wringer but just about anything that chambers without trouble or super deep seating seems to shoot groups under an inch at 50 and just over that at 100.

the AR rifles seem to be pretty picky as far as where the gas tube pick-up is located as far as function and speed is concerned.

I've shot many in my 300 Whisper, all were lubed with Carnauba Red and had no leading, the cartridge is not as accurate as some of the small .30s like the .30 br. or .308 for me.

I'll add, I was referring to fouling of the gas system and components of AR's. Lead and barrels are perfectly acceptable.

I've been shooting Lee 230 grain TL cast and Lee C312-155-2R gas checked in mine using mostly H110. Accuracy with the 230 gr was not good: 5" at 100 yards. Accuracy with the 155 gr was much better: 1.5-2" at 100 yards. My alloy is cast range scrap (pretty hard). Sized to 0.309". I haven't had a trace of lead in my barrel, which surprised me a little. Or any issues with the gas port. My barrel is a 16" CMMG 1:7.

No lead in gas port or barrel. I've had some on the back of the bolt but not much

I've been shooting the NOE 311299 in my 300 because I had the mould and I couldn't get the Lee 312-155 to chamber reliably. The NOE boolit in my gun works very well and weighs a little over 200 grs. when loaded in a 300 Black Out case. It seats just a little below the neck when seated just to the end of the first driving band.
