Quenching question.....

Can someone ansewer this for me, I think I know the answer but need reassured.

If I drop my ingots into water to help cool them after smelting and this hardens them, (now the dumb part) is this hardnes retained when I place the ingots into my casting pot and passed on to the bullets? :confused:

No, once you melt those ingots, the crystalline structure you made with the quenching goes away.

Once those ingots reach about 300 degrees they will begin to soften back to the original hardness level.
