People asking about recoil and pads. In single shot there is a constant mention of cresent butt plates and the hurting they put on folks.
I bought one of these "Shooters Friend" recoil pads for my 1885 Pedersoli Hi Wall and it really does work.
At a Black Powder shoot, last weekend 4 people tried it and all are ordering them for their guns.
I'm no woos when it comes to recoil, but bench shooting a 45-70 with 500 gr Cast Boolits over BP or smokless, isn't fun if you get hit with that upper "hook" on the butt plate.
Thought Y'All might like to at least look at these.
Same material as the heels of running shoes and is wide enough to help spread the punch as well as absorb most of it.
