I was given a bullet mold made in the 60's for 8mm Mauser (.325) that cast a bullet that is an exact copy of the 150 grain German Spizer bullet.
A nice two grease grove, gas check bullet. I do not have a top punch that comes anywhere near deep/steep enough to seat the very long Spitzer neck (point) of the bullet.
Do any of you know where I can get a long, deep bullet top punch for this bullet? The company that made the bullet mold is long gone.
Thank you .

Does a Lyman 311413 top punch 413 look close?

How about a #467 and drill a center hole for the extra length of the point.

I may have to do just that. I would need to find a long punch and mill it out to the angle of the bullet point as it is very steep.

I'd use a large open top punch and some 5 min. epoxy in it to form a top punch indentation by using an actual bullet before epoxy sets, this has been covered on here before.

Give lathsmith(Chris) a pm and see if he can make you one. He makes everything else.

at my local gunshop (Murphy's in Tucson, AZ), they have a ton of old top punches in the used casting equipment bin. take a bullet to your local store or a gunshow where they sell used casting equipment. if you can't get a perfect match, you can always chuck it in a drill press and shape it with a small file. I've done that many times.
