barrel break in

I have a knew pro hunter in 500 sw...
would like to know if it would be better to break in the barrel using jacketed bullets or just using lead bullets .... I am certain with lead bullets it will take longer but will it be better.... thanks

Use jacketed, Then clean it very well before you go to cast. Good luck:drinks:

................Use jacketed bullets. Cast won't do much of anything for ya except possibly lead if the bore is rough enough (which I doubt).

If it was a rifle you could shoot 10-15 unlubed paper patched boolits after the normal break-in and they'd bring the barrel to a high shine.
