The message displayed during the shutdown was that it was being used to upgrade the data storage of the site.
Obviously, that means adding capacity to handle all of the mindless 'polls' that are clogging up the Our Town forum.

actually we expanded the our town section of the server to hold even more polls and to include more choices in the polling features.

I've climbed power poles, built pole barns and saluted at flagpoles. I once poled a raft across a pond, and have kept a horse overnight in a pole corral. I have a photo of a totem pole, and I've even traded ethnic jokes with Scandanavians, Ukranians, and Poles.
