I hit the Birch Run gun show this weekend. I saw a few nice 98 sporters, one Mexican in 7mm-08, the other 7x57. Since I'd dropped $600 into my car, with another 3 to go, buying up alot of stuff wasn't happening. Today I went, kinda late, but I took along a 1941 Win.mod 12 in 16ga. Rubber buttpad said "Peters Gun Shop, 622 Gratiot Ave. Saginaw. I can't hit the barn from inside with doors closed with a shotgun, so I wanted to bring another Mauser home. Last time I saw an old timer with a really nice 96 Gustaff sporter, 6.5x55 that I'd drooled over, to accompany her stock sister [smilie=p: . I managed to find it's twin sister today, and the guy holding her was lacking a pump shotgun. We swapped, and he said she's a shooter. The tube looks like new, cut to 20". She's got a Timney trigger, a 2 position safety, thumbhole stock (I like), and a decent 3-9 scope & sling swivels. I also found someone local with 7x57 barrels for $45, and he can put one on my Argentine for me if mine don't shoot too hot for about $70. Now if only I had a press, 6.5 moulds, ..................[smilie=p:

Ya oughta get ahold of Junior1942, as he was searching for these. See the M93 Mauser 7x57 thread below.

It's pretty big. They use the new Birch Run Arena thing. It's got 2 huge rooms, and both are filled. There are an awful lot of tables full of knives instead of guns tho. They're coming back Nov 26-7.
