Not a good sprue plate lube LOL


I was watching a 8 year old little helper this afternoon

I needed more 44 mag bullets ( Lee 310 gr )

He has "helped" me cast a few other times

Well he was sitting next to me with his goggles , leather gloves and long sleeve shirt on
As I sat the mold down a bit to cool
He did just what I had done earlyer

He lubed the sprue plate screw
Errr , he had a dirty gummy bear that he had dropped

So he used it

I just opened the mold up and turned off the pot
We then washed up and had a snack

Gummy bears melt real quick on a hot mold :veryconfu
Not sure how long it is going to take to remove it

But at least he was safe , he used his gloved hand to put on the "lube"

Oh well kids are a joy and he isn't even mine

How do you know it wasn't a good lube? Did you try it after he lubed it up for you. Shoot man the kid might have been on to sumtin. lol

When they're young, they only step on your toes. When they grow up they step on your heart. Enjoy them for what they are.

I thought you were going to end up with some gummy boolits...he would have made you the first one's ever.....

reminds me of when my daughter washed my brand new truck...she was so proud of herself, come look Dad!!

she say's "some of those spots where hard to get off, but I got them off"....she used an SOS pad... "You did a great job honey...no doubt about it...that truck is scrubbed clean, thank you so much".

She's 33 now...and that's one of the best memories that we have, wouldn't change a thing.
