Pulled the trigger today and bought me another 1851 Navy. Got it from Cabela's. I got the PIETTA 1851 Confederate NAVY .44 CAL. REVOLVER @ $149.99. Went ahead and got a spare cylinder for $49.99 as well. Crazy thing is they had the same gun with a spare cylinder for $50 bucks more. Still scratching my head on that one. So this will make me two 1851's now. One Uberti and one Pietta. I was told this black powder stuff was addictive. My order should be here is about a week.

I have two .36s. I bought them about two months apart. A very entertaining revolver.

Man oh man they are fun.

Send the cylinder back. It is not a Remington.
I still have mine from the 90s. Never used.
Get a mold in .454. Mine loves it. Being a brass frame, use the standard flask for measuring powder. They dump a little light and that helps with the frame.
I sanded the back strap so the Duck Tail was removed. fits the hand real well now. I also opened up the hammer sight and recut the groove. Brought the POI into real world accuracy.

Yeah my first one is a brasser as well. I have my flask set to pour out 20 grains at a time so I don't over charge. I'll keep the thought about the hammer sight though. Hadn't thought about filing to adjust. The Uberti could use some tweaking for sure. When this one gets in I'll see how she does and go from there.

What docone31 said. I like the grip tail though.
