I stopped in a local Wal-Mart today and they had a few clearance rifles on sale and some ammo of all things. Clearance Ammo??

Savage Axis II XP: 22-250 or 243 - $199
Ruger K10/22 rpb SS Black Syn 22lr: $124
Marlin Plinkster 22lr: $99

Many Muzzleloaders over 1/2 off.

Case was full of 325rd Boxes of 22lr $18 each limit 3/day. Not on sale but surprised at the amount of 22lr.

I was talking to the department Manager at my local WM and he said they had their AR's at about 50% off (799.00 rifles went for 399.00) of course I missed it and didn't have any extra money anyway but ....

Sorry on the 22lr. That was regular price I was just surprised at the amount in stock. The clearance price was on ammo cans of 40cal and some 223 which I didn't get the price of because I don't buy it much. Should have made that clear.

As for not having the money: I have one credit card dedicated to sales like that and nothing else. If I see something on sale/clearance and think I can turn a profit I pull the trigger. If I see ammo/guns/powder/primers at a great price I buy. Stuff on sale with a rebate equal to the price I buy and put it in a yard sale. Pure profit. Something in a yard sale for a ridiculous price for some reason, I buy it cash and resell it.

I am soooo cheap

Remington 770 - .308 with scope - $239. Followed me home and it loves CB's, even 180 gr plain base at 1300 fps.

I picked up a Colt 6920 from one Walmart a couple of Fridays ago for about $750 out the door.

I went to another store, and have another plain jane 6920 in limbo there.

I should have waited to get to the third walmart store, though. They had 5 Colts total. Two were the plain jane black 6920's. Two were the Magpul outfitted 6920's (one was black, the other was flat dark earth), and then the last Colt they had was a quad rail equipped 6940.

I took a picture of the box:

That is the gun I should have held out first for. :(

According to a couple of AR15.com posters, one got two of the Magpul 6920's for $500 each. Another poster picked up a either DPMS Sportical for $250 or a Windham for $350.

I think all the walmarts are cleaned out of AR's now, but I hear the deals now are on optics and Surefire flashlights

I got my little CVA Bobcat ML'er on clearance after the season at Wal Mart for only $56! I just couldn't leave without it, despite the fact that I just don't like hunting in the ML season, usually, and love venison too much to use anything but my best rifles during the centerfire season. I still haven't shot the thing, but it wouldn't even function when I first got it. VEry simple mechanism, though, so I just took it apart, did a little minor fitting, and presto! With a little polishing, even the trigger was great! It's short, light, and just what I'd need for a ML'er to hunt with here. If I can get a little squirrelly, maybe I'll take it out this year, finally? Not a bad rifle, actually, once I got 'er perkin'. Also picked up 7 or 8 1 lb. bottles of 777 powder for $5.00 a bottle. This is back when it was about $12/lb., I believe.

You just have to be there at the right time, and that's the only time I've ever hit it right with my timing. I'm just not a big fan of Wal Mart, so I don't get there very often, and it's getting more seldom as time goes by.

$18 for 325 rounds works out to 5.5 cents per round. Not buying much
at that price.

Although I won`t be getting any of that .22 ammo, if you need/want .22 ammo - then I guess people will pay that price. On an online auction that ended last night 2 `buckets` of Rem. .22 ammo went for $138 each.Robert

We don't even have those here as they are considered weapons of mass destruction and require a Firearm ID which is a no no in NJ.

Today I saw that Wal-mart is going to stop selling MSRs. I already have mine, but I swung by my local store to see if any great deals were to be had, as I had seen a couple of MSRs (no idea about brand or models) there previously. They were gone when I got there. I didn't ask the clerk if he had any stashed away, as he might have said yes.

I haven't heard that. Around here they still stock "MSR" they usually even advertise them heavily in their paper ads

The last time I saw 22 LR in a store they wouldn't sell to me because I was underage and I'll be 80 next month. :kidding: Kidding, but only on the first part. I haven't seen any 22 LR in stock in a store in years, honestly. Maybe I don't get out enough.

The walmart in Titusville had nothing that I would call a screaming deal. No black rifles and no 22 lr. There was a Ruger American in 243 for $368, and a Savage Axis 06 for $278 or so. and one of the cheap Remingtons bolt rifles in the mid $200 range.

Picked up my second Colt 6920 last night for $650+ out the door.

Here is a pic I stole off of AR15.com...must have been some other store in another state:

One of my local walmarts had the DPMS Sportical in .308 for $600 plus. I should have grabbed that one too, since I don't have anything in .308

Is that pic current or from the summer 2014 clearance sale?
