Took out my and the wife's parents along with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our 40th anniversary. They wanted to throw us a party with all the children chipping in. I called BS, and decided to host it as a thank you for being our support group to keep us attached lo this many years, and yes, it was a group effort and I'm not sorry to admit it. Best money spent since our wedding. Cheap price for having a great family!

I had been wanting a Hi Point 45 for some time, so scratched the itch today. Fell in love with it from the first magazine. Yep, heavy ol' brick, pretty ugly. But, I must have won the lottery, because the trigger is great, breaks clean at around 4#, and I would almost say it shoots better than my 1911's. I altered a couple 1911 magazines that didn't function well in my other guns, so now have spares. And they work! I am truly amazed and pleased!

we bought two tractor tires. had the kid discing a field while I was at work and she turned too sharp and put the disc thru the tire, and of course with something that pulls for a living you can't have mismatched treads our you will tear up your transmission, so now I have 2 new tires that cost 2500 bucks and I have to figure out how to pay for them. may have to sell a couple of calfs early.

A guy from Easy Rest shows up in the driveway wanting to talk to us about beds.
We listen to his presentation for an hour.
While he's packing stuff out to his car, I find out my wife 'invited' him without realizing she did it.
I also find out that she likes what he said, and wants a new bed (to replace the waterbed).
So, when he comes back in, we made a deal.

I didn't vote on the poll because I'm having trouble remembering the last thing I bought.

Oh, now I remember. My kids have been bugging me for years to buy them a video game system. I stopped by a garage sale and found a PS2 for $30. I don't know anything about this kind of stuff so I called a friend who knows and he said it was a good buy. My kids were bouncing off the walls happy. I think they felt "deprived" since they were the only kids they know without one.

I guess the last thing I bought for myself was some reloadable .303 British surplus ammo for 20 cents per round.

S&W 586, Mossberg 151M-B, 1922 Peace dollar BU, 1934 Peace Dollar VG+.

A "friend" took me trap shooting about 5-6 weeks ago. I almost never get a good deal on a gun but did this time; ended up buying a used Browning BT-99 trap gun and a bunch of shotgun shells.

BTW- Wal-Mart has Federal 1-1/8 ounce Dove and Small Game shells for $4.94/box. They go bang just as well as the higher priced stuff.

My son bought a juke a couple of years ago. The first time he drove it over here, I mentioned I wished I had an o to replace the u with. He went in his shop and got an o that had came off a totalled dodge pickup and glued it on there. It was several days before my son even noticed it. He traded it in and it sold with joke still on it. lol I have seen it since and the new owner removed it though.

I just contributed to DukeinFlorida's gas money for chemo.

What did I get? That can be hard to define.

A weeks worth of nights where I slept like a housand angels hovered over me as I slept.

Some satisfaction both from my own actions, and from seeing others step in to do the same.

One post from a person who I have never met, but who said what I said moved him. To that person, Sir, what you said moved me and made my week.

A big cloud of peace which has settled between myself and my wife. We are both intelligent, opinionated, strong willed persons so we tend to argue a lot.

All in all, I'm going to call this money well spent.

You bought my wife? :)

Nice pipe btw.

I love great cigars and pipes.
I have a fantastic pipe collection from the old days..

I gave up tobacco about twenty five years ago.

I was heavily addicted to it.

I am glad I gave it up as I am closing in on 60 with no cancer or heart disease.

I keep my pipes in case I am diagnosed with an incurable disease..
Then I will for sure smoke them again..

No real addictions ..other than guns..

and guitars,,

I just bought one of the WFT trimmers from Little Crow Gun Works. I got it for the .223/5.56 and it's the slickest thing out there. I'm going to get another for the 06 too. A bit pricey but it really works! Makes quick work of the worst part of reloading - trimming a bunch of brass.

That's cool. While working a couple weeks ago I saw the local little league's American flag hanging only by the lower clip. I hauled it down and jury rigged it with a section of the excess halyard and run it back up. I drove away and thought of the 70 year old guy always down there mowing for the kids and I know he doesn't get paid, does it for the kids and the satisfaction. Made me think about my own coaches when I played.

Pulled into the hardware store and bought the proper clip for the pole and went back and installed it. I don't know a single kids name that plays there but hey it's for the kids.
