Anyone know about old oil cans being collectible????
I have one that's I've had around for a long time.
Got it at a store here, in the 60's, called Wigwam.
They were something like Woolsworth. I think the last one closed in the 80's.
I know with collectibles, condition is everything. But being unique, it might have some value.
I'd like to know what it might be worth.146895

I don't know the collect-ability of that particular can, but yeah I see Frank on American Pickers going nuts over the oil cans all the time. In fact you might shoot an email to Antique Archaeology in Ohio and see if they can give you an idea.

That one is not that old. A real old "oil can" is made of glass surrounded by metal! And sat in a carrying case with a handle, sort of like a milkman carried. Now those are OLD oil cans!

The one you pictured is in very rough condition to bring any real serious money to a real collector. The one in the link is in prime valuable condition. When it comes to things like that, finish and quality of the paint and metal are key. No rust or chipped/worn paint. No dents or dings.

I deal in a lot of antique things and have a fair knowledge database of that kind of stuff....besides just guns!
