Hi All.....can one buy a cheap lazer analyzer to determine lead/tin/??? alloys?

I have heard of junkyards having these but know nothing of them.

Please educate me....

Call around to some scrap yards and see. They may be able to help.

The xrf scqnners are not cheap, as in thousands of dollars. But many scrap yards that have them will scan items for you for little to no money.

I think they use radiation and are super expensive.
It would be a cool tool.

The x-ray technology guns run around $35-40K for the good ones. If you need the use of one, find a local scrap yard, buy some stuff from them, and have them give you a reading. All my scrap yard buys are ONLY done with an x-ray gun analysis included at no charge. Otherwise I walk away. No guessing for me.

I buy almost everything I ever want/see for my several hobbies, but one of those is totally out of the picture for my occasional HOBBBY usage!!!!!!!!
