This is the beauty shop in the unit next to me. I saw her pull up and stop, then the engine revved and in she went. No injuries.

Previously I had always thought of that as a stupid mistake by dumb drivers, but not long ago one of my wife's relatives passed out because of some medical issue and the result was the same.

Either way, I'm glad it missed your shop Tim.

The nieghbor drove out the back wall of his garage years ago. Somehow the heavy floor mat got between brake pedal and accelorator and harder he pushed on the brake the harder it pushed on the accelerator. The back wall hardly slowed that big old oldsmobile down LOL.

Every time I see something like this I remember Dean Martin saying he's getting better at parking his car after an evening of partying. He said "Last night I only hit the coffee table."

Some years ago I saw a semi tractor trailer that hit a fast food restaurant. No one hurt. Demolished the front of the building.

Favorite method the gang bangers use to rob a LGS! First time they drove a car through the front door, second time they had put up concrete posts so they stole a truck...

Sorry mam all of our customers MUST have am appointment scheduled at least one week in advance. There you have the reason. All that was needed was to fit her in. All use the walk-in door not the drive-through.

Hope all is well.

Happens a lot down here.

Sure does. A drug addict went off the road and hit part of my house a couple months ago.

Hitting a chain link fence brings back memories. We had a boss that had maitence make a drop hith reciever for with a insert that was 12" past the bumper. He got in the habit of bacvkingto the fence so the hitch stuck thru the fence so no one could walk thru behind the parked cars. One night someone dropped a 12" long 3/4" bolt thru the hitch hole on the way out. Took him a little while to realize the fence was following him.

I once saw a fire truck sticking out of a grocery store side wall. Next day they had a damaged can goods sale.
Sign said "You can whip our cream, but you can't beat our meat" below was added "Special fire sale without fire".

Had that happen to me while I was in the store. Guy came rolling down the road, turned into the parking lot and lost his brakes. The truck continued into the building. Only took out the metal panel below the window. The glass survived. Glass jars in the aisle did not. Glad I was the only one in the store for an almost front row seat.

Many years ago my wife's cousin was a waitress in a restaurant when a customer accidentally drove through the wall, killing her.

It probably was the driver's error. I am not a fan of the new cars and pickups. No direct mechanical connection to the throttle, shifter, and brakes on most now.
My new in 2005 Silverado had a transmission that I swear must of had a resident ghost in it. Sometimes it would shift down at stops, sometimes not. Then it might shift down just as you started to pull away and make a loud bang and the whole truck shook.
Glad no one was injured.

I watched a car drive though the front door of a convenience store a couple of years ago. It was an older lady who was apparently in some kind of diabetic distress. She missed me by less than 3 feet, scary stuff!!!

As far as I know all GM vehicles except the Hybrids still have mechanical connections on the brakes. Throttle and most trans are wire though. I have not seen a failure yet which will cause sudden acceleration. Reduced power is the failsafe. The problem with your truck is actually the slip-yoke on the drive shaft and there is a bulletin and a kit out to fix it, my 08 did the same thing. It's an easy fix. Sorry for the hi-jack.

Remember the sudden acceleration or loss of control on the throttle that happened a few years ago. I don't recall too many that were actually true. One genius tried that "my pedal is stuck" stunt on the interstate after being caught speeding and had the cop get in front of the car and use the patrol cars brakes to get it stopped. The guys car was just fine.
