I should have mine Saturday, knowing my luck Monday .

Any suggestions on how hard we're pushing it in the 6.8 ? I have no trouble with the completely different 27-130 FP up to near maximum jacketed loads ,there's a void of 140 gr data and my tinkering only went to a great patched load in a 7x6.8 mildcat which only made it to just below maximum loads for the 6.8 when it got all spikey . It jumped from happy round shouldered primers to brass spray and primers in the action, apparently. 007 doesn't offset the 5 gr picked up from softer boolits.

Anyway about the NOE 279-124 ,has anyone worked it up much ? I saw a reference on another sight that it has an as cast weight of about 128gr which is what forced me to buy it . So if rules hold true I should wind up so close to 130 that I can call it a 130 . I've had no trouble with the slow twist of the 6.8 stabilizing and making groups with the 27-130 it just won't go that last little bit to meet the legal requirements for big game here . (1k ftlb @100 yd) by my Strelok app and drawing data BC guesses rounded down I need 150 fps more from the 124 (@130) to hit those numbers (actually with a good margin of error although I'm not 100% sure the math adds up but maybe the .268 BC 140 gr is that much "slower" than the .286 BC 124) . Long/short I've reached 2100 fps with the 140 which seats with about the the check and most of the bottom band below the neck . I'm holding out for 2300 with the 124 and it's proper seating depth ,shape and nose length.

I intend for now to start with 10x ,Federal brass, CCI 41 and 75-25 WW -1-20 water dropped and move to WW if needed to get to speed. I have a tweeked Darrs lube that has held up even with boolit failure to almost the speed window, I just haven't pushed it there yet .
