I know this might be a long shot...but I picked up a Winchester Model 71 today and it is the only rifle ever chambered for the 348 Winchester cartridge. And that cartridge is the only one that uses a .348 bullet. I can't find them in stock anywhere.

Jacketed or lead....I'm open to all offers.

I found brass at Buffalo Arms so that isn't an issue...

Can ya help a fella out?

Email me rvb100@comcast.net

Thanks!

Buffalo Arms might also have a bullet mould or two for that caliber. Give them a call and see. They are great people to deal with. I have dealt with them for years.

Buffalo Arms only has the RCBS and it is out of stock. For the same price I can buy a brass Accurate mold with the correct ojive......Gonna order one. But I still need some "J" bullets.

Midway USA has some 348 bullets in stock and one bullet mould. Check it out. Good outfit.

Unfortunatly I live in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and Midway will not ship reloading components to this state...UGH! I've heard the RCBS mold drops undersized bullets so I'm going to order a Accurate mold.

Sorry to hear that. Do ever have the chance to get to the Hartford,CT area? If so there is a Cabelas close by and if they don't have any in stock you could order the bullets online from them and have them shipped to that store for an in store pickup and no shipping charge. Just an idea.

Cabelas in CT won't sell any reloading components to a massachusetts resident. But we now have a Cabelas in MA so I'm going there tomorrow....

Good deal
Things have really gotten messed up there. Unbelievable. I hope you find what you need and get that rifle shooting soon.

Barnes makes 225 and 250 gr jacketed bullets. Winchester still makes 200 gr ammo. What sort of horrid gun laws do you have back there? People pick on California ,but we are not that bad except that we don't have enough non-toxic bullets and I really don't want to shoot duck loads at doves. I have a 200+/- gr plain base mold but no sizer. If you want some from wheel weights let me know. Model 71 owners must stick together.

I have one of those! Several years ago Hornady used to still make .348 "j-boolits"; I purchased several boxes because I feared the source of bullets would dry up. Walt Melander made a mold that casts a 200gr. and a 250 gr boollit. Lyman used to make a mold for it also. I may still have an extra set of blocks... I'll look for them. I doubt that you will shoot it a lot. It is a good head ache! Send me your address and perhaps I can send you some.

You heard wrong. The RCBS 348-200-FN mold does not cast undersized. I size mine with a 0.350" die made for me by Buckshot. They shoot very well indeed in my Stevens 44-1/2 348 Winchester rifle.

A 348 in that Stevens must really get your attention ! I have a 44 1/2 with a 219 zipper and 38-55 barrel. Maybe another barrel in 348 would be fun.

Actually, it is very pleasant to shoot, and very accurate too. I really enjoy it.
