View Full Version : Your favorite .458 SOCOM mold and why!

I'm just getting into this cal and would like to hear your experience with this boolit. I know NOE has some great .460 molds but not sure on coal/crimp/lube groves distances and such. I have a few 45/70 molds but again... coal/crimp/lube grooves issues. Thanks!

While I don't have a 458 SOCOM, I've shot one and its on my short list for sure. Brass is available via Starline, but a bit expensive. I'd consider calling Tom at Accurate and seeing what he suggests.

when i shot a 458 SOCOM ar i used the Lyman 457124 mold. it cast a 385 gr rn bullet and was veryaccurate in the rifle.

SWEET!!! I just looked and I have a 457124 4 cavity! just worried about leading if pushed too fast.
