Here is a pic of the wife and I with the 500 S&W's. If I don't look real happy in this pic it's because the battery on the wifes Quad went T-up!
(We got a new one at Walmart for $60.00 though that day. ;) )

Great setup all around.
I'm having a senior moment here....
I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter that I keep in the same holster you guys have, but I can't for the life of me remember where I got the holster, and can't find anything in my bookmarks referencing it. I seem to remember it was semi custom made. It's a great holster...but dang....I hate senior moments....:killingpc

Oh I would love to out with the Quads and guns. But!
I have been waiting 3 months for 500S&W pistol brass. (1000 rounds paid for)

Waited 3 months for Ultra Dot scope gave up and ordered Aimpoint about three times the price.

Waited 3 months for my Marlins XLR's to drag in.
Very Frustrated!!!

I KNOW someone will misconstrue my comment so I will say right now . . .

It was meant as a joke, NOT as a serious comment.

Couldn't edit it to add this so I will have post separately.

Someone has bad luck or forgot their address! [smilie=1: All of my Ultra Dots were here in WV in 3 days from Kalifornia. Ulta Dot West even pays the shipping.

Here we are at 30 yards with a 500 Grain Gas Checked WW bullet and 17 grains of Hodgden Long Shot. Right around 1200 FPS and just below the pain threshold.

And yet another dead battery. The desert eats them up.

Sounds like you need one of these.

I have them wired into all of my motorized toys.

When riding season comes, I just unplug them, hit the starter, and go.

Why does the desert kill batteries?

leadman
04-23-2011, 02:49 PM
High heat, especially in vehicles with the battery under the hood with the engine. Also the desert trails are not real smooth so alot of vibration and bouncing.
Underhood temps here in Phx reach 250' easily in the summer.

Also wetcell batteries dry out . . . we are at 13% humidity now . . . !
