I got a call from a friend in Los Angeles and she needs some help. She needs advice and assistance in inventorying, filling out paperwork and transferring ownership of some 300 guns to her, and ultimately will be for sale. Not sure if any are NFA but she thinks they are are all properly registered with the State of California.
She only called me because she knew I had an interest in guns and might be able to steer her in the right direction. She also has known me for some 25+ years and sought my advice. My advice was to find a good firearms lawyer that has probate experience. Needless to say I am in New Hampshire and she is in California. Where better to find a Friearms lawyer recomendation than here?
It would be helpful if anyone could give me some names of lawyers near L.A. that can work with CA Firearms laws and Probate.
Many thanks to the hive.

NRA can help with the lawyer.

Probate law is clear in CA.
Firearms law in CA is very murky.
She could call CRPA for advice and help.

Good place to start: www.MichelLawyers.com (http://www.MichelLawyers.com) C.D. "Chuck" Michel is a prominent pro-firearms attorney, and just happens to be the current president of the California Rifle and Pistol Association, www.CRPA.org (http://www.CRPA.org) .

FYI, all guns do NOT have to be registered in California. Sure, every gun you buy now has to go through the state system so they know what you have, but any guns owned before '92 or so when private sales were banned do not have to be retroactively registered.
