Working on my Taurus 1911 9mm. I put a load together, 125 grain Lee RNFP.358 and 5.1 grains CFE Pistol. Very accurate load, unfortunately it jams like crazy. The bullet jams into the back of the barrel hood (extension). The gun runs perfectly with 124 grain plated bullets. So I figure the flat nose is the issue. I ordered 2 molds, a Lee 125 grain 2R .356 and a 125 grain TC Both TL designs. Now should I cast those with range scrap or hardball alloy?

Try seating your bullets a little bit deeper.

Keep in mind, shorter seating = higher pressure.

Rn cast is a pita for me. Powder coated is worse. Do have to seat deep, and I do reduce charge some to compensate. I ultimately plunk test each round to insure it works

I've all but given up on the 358 125gr rfp for 9mm, I found you have to seat them very deeply and you gain nothing over the TC 120gr. the TC boolits seem to feed better as well. However I believe it may do well in the 357 Sig my son just procured.

I cast Saeco #924. It is a gas check and casts out at 120 gr. Feeds in everything in 9mm thru 357 I own and does not lead. Especially accurate in my Sig 229 .357. I do alter it's diameter from .356 to .358 depending upon which weapon it's loaded for. Shoots well out of my Win. 357 trapper too. Rod

search that LEE 125 rnfp you'll see the oal many are using it's a tick short. but that is not a big deal.
it saves more powder.
I have run loads down in the [below] 3 gr area with the faster powders and have had 100% feeding.
