It was fun, but it was short! School starts back here in a week and two days, so I'll be back on that school bus in the wonderful August heat. 'Gotta love it. :veryconfu I did get quite a bit of casting done though, in spite of the heat and rains.

Too hot and not short enough! Really getting to where I don't like the heat. Yes, we are planning our great escape from Commiefornia and the heat! I thought something happened to you brother when the polls stopped!

Thanks for the concern. All is well enough on my end. Polls stopped when I started spending more time outdoors. [smilie=s:

Had a great summer so far, no cancer, went to my home town on the Gulf Coast for vacation, went fishing with an ol hotrodding buddy, kids and grandkids drove up and met us and we had a fish fry in the park, it was all good!

Gotta love the summer! Been shooting a LOT and fishing even more, if I were smart enough to post pics. I'd show ya all some great shots of the Kokanee salmon we've been bringing in. I hate winter more every year! Now with one of the girls in Florida I might be hard to get rid of this winter. Retirement is something I highly recommend. Gp

Took two non-shooting GKs to ASC for shotgun, then went to Memorial for pistol. Case of clays (they did hit a few) 200 22lr & 100 9mm. Even got some videos to send to parents. They had fun!

Lets see, recovering from neck fusion(almost back to normal), doubled the size of the garden, been picking berries of one kind or another for the last 4 weeks, now starting to pick green beans. Planted second round of a lot of the short season veggies. Got in a little shooting but have to take it easy on anything with a lot of recoil until 6 months mark... need to do a casting run for some 9mm boolits because I am running low...

Been a really nice summer so far, decent amount of rain, no hail this year to trash the garden, only 1 wind event(110mph gust front, lasted 2 minutes), temps have been the typical for MN mid 80's to low 90's...

Summer? It just quit raining! Is it summer already? We haven't had our first "official" 100 degree day yet but that's OK by me. Trigger finger (for rifles, anyway) has been out of commission for a month now but will give it a try tomorrow on what is supposed to be our first 100+ day. Have a couple (OK, three!) of rifles that truly need shooting so unless the backstop and targets burst into flames I think I'll give it a try.

Really, not too bad here - monsoon is kind of a flop this year, dew point in 40's, little rain, and us desert-dwellers like some rain. Unfortunately, when we get it, it comes in buckets, and the ground is so hard it doesn't soak in, just runs - and runs. Thirty minutes after a thunderstorm one can dig into the ground and find dry dirt an inch down. So Highs are often into triple digits, but not always, and by and large, not an awful summer so far.
(The highest temperature ever recorded in Tucson was 117*, and there's Good News, and Bad News. The Good News is that I wasn't here! The Bad news is that I was in Phoenix, where it was 122*! June of 1990...)

Hot !! More days above 95 than I can remember. Only half a dozen at normal. I'm beginning to believe Al Gore, or who ever started that global mess. Well almost anyway.

Humid? I guess it's relative. I liked the "dry heat" of Arizona but I've lived on the east coast most of my life. Nice photo, btw.

11hrs a day, 6 days a week work. Took a week off to bury my daughter-in-law 1 week short of my anniversary at work so not paid but it was all good. 200 people showed up to pay respects, had an art show of her stuff and a canoe full of beer. Her ashes wear on table over seeing it all. Good time, she would have loved it. Went farther north to my hunting camp for a week. Loons on the pond, cold beer in the fridge and upper 60's days to low 50's nights. Swam in the pond during a thunder storm, picked wild raspberries and made jam, hung out and found a ski doo in the woods. Now home in the 90+ heat and 6day wotk till Oct.

Thanks, we did it on her birthday. A good time for everyone. I brought a bottle of her favorite scotch, i dont care if it did cost $80 it still tasted like medicine, and the family had a toast to her. Everyone left happy

This summer has been a gem . Most of June was 101-105 which wouldn't be bad at the normal 17-21% humidity but it was over 40% every day of that and the swamp coolers (evaporative coolers) just won't work over 35% . The nights stayed hot ,also not normal here ,100 degree day normally runs to a 68-72 degree night ,but it stayed in the mid 80s and wet. Until last week since the last week in July it rained almost every day which would usually be great but it made the humidity even worse during the day but about 10 days ago it broke . So for the 1st time in 6 weeks I actually was able to sleep in fact I had to turn off the cooler twice this week when the house hit 50 degrees over night.

A bright spot in all the rain and wet days is that instead of the normal 12-14 inches per month our terminal lake looses to evaporation it has actually gained an inch for June and July .......1 inch down just 6-800 to go to get the fish back and the domestic water suitable for more than showers and flushing.

I wish I had a lawn for you to get off ............ but then I'd have to mow......

Lousy, dad gum lousy. Wife had a growth removed in June. It was cancerous. Now we're looking at 24 weeks of chemo.

Art was right - we actually have 5 seasons here, with 'Monsoon' being the 5th. Monsoon is July & August, when we get about 80% of our total annual rainfall. Summer is divided, June and September. That's the dry heat time. Monsoon is damp heat, but we haven't had it too bad so far...

Lots of rain and lots of sun, garden and lawn are growing like crazy. It's taken almost 40 years to get my wife really interested in shooting and two weeks ago she showed me up with my own rifle! She shot a 3 round group at 100yds and kept it under ONE INCH! First time she ever shot anything bigger than .223/5.56, she used my 30.06. I'm pretty darned proud of her.
Prayers for Woody and Mrs. Woody, Hope the rest of the summer is even better for all.

Well, huge fans in the warehouse all quit working and its been an inferno in here. I need to stay in front of a floor fan to keep the sweat from dripping off my eyebrows. When i walk in here in the morning, its like being slapped in the face with a hot towel, so...im ready for fall.

Summer is my busiest time of year. The pink salmon will really get going in a week and that is when pink turns to green (money). I love pinks. Easy to catch and there are literally millions of them. Kids absolutely love them since they are the perfect size for kids, about 4# and no boat is required since they migrate along the beaches.

almost August , I am not sure where summer went , like always I had plans to do so much more but have been so busy I am not sure how I ever thought I was going to get all that done

the garden is a weed patch but producing , I am in the middle of porch renovations I have all the old mortar cut out now I just need to put all new mortar in then I can build the deck and walls , right now the roof is held up by 4 temporary posts
my goal s to have it all finished before first snow but realistically I will be happy to have it fully enclosed , windows in and sided by first snow

Knocking on September. While it's stayed at or just over 100 at least it dried out and the nights have been cool
