I have a CVA .58 cal Flintlock rifle
very little used,
serial# 00052XX
its a half-stock 2-wedge , I believe Mountain rifle, with no fore-cap, and a lot of ugly engraving I don't like,
picked it up cheap, (free--for doing some work on a friends stocks)
It has NO overseas markings aka-Spain proofs, on the barrel
but does have the "spain-Lock"
It says
Connecticut Valley Arms.Inc
Black Powder Only .58 Cal
on the barrel,
Ive been told it may well be a Miller Barrel
15/16 flat to flat, 32 inches long

Im looking to find a new stock for it,250-350.00
I would like a high end quality figure stock to replace the old one,
prefer to do a full-stock rifle, (would love to do a Bedford County style rifle out of it)
but would settle for a half,
be nice to find someone who could inlet the barrel and a L&R-01-F lock
not afraid of the rest, as I've got 40yrs of cabinet and furniture building behind me,

thanks for any help

If you are sure it's a guality barrel with the bore in top condition it might?? be worth the $ and effort. You'd basically be building a rifle around just the barrel. Unless one of the suppliers like ToTW has what is required- a 90+% inletted stock along with a quality lock, trigger and matching furniture (namely a kit sans the barrel), along with the vent having to line up with the pan, I can't see much point in pouring a bunch of money and effort into it.

Try Pecatonia River Long Rifle Supply, they have different styles.
