I'm about to buy an RCBS 35-200 FN mold for my .35 remington and happened to see this under the "new for 2015" products on the Lee website when I was there looking for something else.

It looks almost identical to the RCBS 35-200 flat nose bullet. Can't find any other info about it on Lee's site and I did a very thorough google search and it doesn't look like anyone has it in stock.

Anyone know anything about this?

Here's the link: http://leeprecision.com/product.php?productid=4906&cat=7282&page=2

That SKU they have listed just turns up results for some round ball mold, so that's no use.

Titan Reloading has it in their catalogue. It is showing as out of stock. They are also showing a 223 mold that looks like it. Out of stock also.

Richard Lee always says he listens to his customers. Apparently it just take 5 years or more to act.

I just checked the new products on Lee and see the new 22 and 35 molds look good and should be good sellers. The new 22 is offered in 6 cavity as well, also added in a 6 cavity is the 312-155-2R. I see 2 new 6 cavity mold that are added to my want list. Can't wait until the supplies reach the retailers.

Now if they can figure out how to keep the pins from moving...

I asked them about a .277 and was told there isn't enough demand. I bought the RCBS 130 grain flat nose. I asked them about a .35 Remington and was told the same thing. I bought the Lyman 204 grain (it's a wide round nose suitable for tubular magazines). I'm happy with the Lyman bullet, so I probably won't bother with the Lee.

I use a small fleet of Lee moulds for handgun boolits, and even for my .30-06 and .30-30. But I'm not going to race out and buy this new mould; they were too slow in getting it to the market and I'm happy with what I have.

Well I won an auction for the rcbs 35-200, so that settled this question for me. Got it for $55 slightly used and figure that extra money is well spent. I have only used Lee 6 cavity pistol molds so far and thought it would be nice to try out an iron one before I buy too many more Lees.

If it's a well amde/designed mold I'd buy one, one nice thing about Lee molds is they are relatively cheap to buy for experimentation and even a stinker isn't to hard to "leement "

Why do you think they listed it under handgun molds, not rifle? Not alot of calling for a 200 gr. GC mold for a handgun around her. Should be listed in rifle molds.

I was wondering that too.
a 200 gr gas checked 38 special round is going pretty far to the specialized end of things.
it looks a little shorter than the rcbs version, but it might be a winner in the 357 max revolver i'll have to keep an eye open for this one.

With how new it is and how close it looks to the rcbs I wouldn't be surprised if they just mis-listed it under handgun. It seems like they tend to make close representations of proven designs, and everyone likes the 35-200 rcbs bullet so I'm guessing it is geared toward rifle, whatever they call it. Also, it only had a reference to 2 cavity, not 6 in something I read, so that suggest rifle also I imagine.
