45 ACP 255gr Cast boolit recipe

Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
I need some help. I am trying to perfect a 255gr RN lead load for 45ACP in a semi-auto (not revolver). I purchased ( I know, I know; didn't cast them myself) the same bullets Buffalo Bore uses in their load, here:

I found some stuff online, and I purchased Speer's no 14 manual thinking to use their 260gr jacketed load data for lead, as a safe starting point; but the edition I got doesn't have the 260gr load listed at all.

Does anyone have that load data?

I did fid a few places online where 255gr lead loads to mimic Buffalo Bore's heavy 45ACP hardcast lead load is mentioned, but not much in the way of pressure testing. example:

There is data using Blue Dot in Speer No.13 for their 250-grain lead SWC and the 260-grain softpoint. I have used the Remington .45 Colt 255-grain lead conicals in the .45 ACP with 9 grains of Blue Dot at 1.25" OAL and they feed fine, are accurate and give normal .45 Colt velocity.

Be advised that if you fire several thousand of these for over time as a steady diet with a standard 16-pound recoil spring they are frame crackers....

I used Unique in most of my loads. The older Speer manuals are pretty cool, but the new, safer manuals are kind of boring. I was using the 454190 Lyman myself, they never failed to feed, but the top end loads kind of made my hands shake after a bit. 45 Auto Rim data may show usable 255 gr loads too, but at more pedestrian velocities.

You may want to up your recoil spring to an 18.5# spring. I use that in my Ball Gun and it helps wit frame damage.

I would steer you toward the current Lyman #49 reloading manual because it gives a lot more data for cast bullets as well as jacketed bullet data.

I have shot the 45 colt NOE rnfp 250 grain boolits out of my 45acp s&w m&p and found them to shoot very well, however found my best accuracy with the faster powders like bullseye and tightgroup. The slower powders weren't very accurate and felt like they were banging the gun around pretty good. My best load was 3.8 grains of tightgroup. Load at your own risk.

For what it is worth, 5.4 gr of unique under a 255 swc out of a Taurus 24/7 will blow a bowling pin in half. Kinda hard on the hand though.

Started at 4.5 gr unique in my kimber and was happy with accuracy and recoil at 5.0 gr so stopped there. Chrono'ed at 730fps and had milder recoil than factory jacketed ammo.

Speer 11 shows data for their 260 grain jhp in 45 auto. Unique is listed at 5.8 Start, 6.4 MAX.
