This is the first day of your new life. You just thought it had purpose before.
I didn't get twins but I remember 51 years ago how excited I was.
Enjoy the gifts God has trusted you with.

I had my first 3.5yrs ago and it has been the most intense and rewarding experience. I rediscovered the meaning of love and happiness. May your fatherhood be as blessed as mine has been.

Now you're in for it!

Parenting is absolutely the most difficult job on the planet. If you find that it is not that difficult, you're screwing up.

Keep them safe. Keep them well. Cherish them every day. In spite of the discipline that breaks your heart (or should) every time you have to mete it out, and the teen years when they think you're clueless, being a dad is the greatest experience you'll ever know.

My oldest is 33 and lives 1,700 miles away and still, not an hour goes by that I don't think about him and worry about him.

Love them and hug them a lot this will pass so fast you will miss it in their older years. My kids are in their 30s & two grandkids in Germany, so the daughter's boy is all I get to play with, and as a six year old, he is growing too fast.

Congratulation! My son just turned one. Cherish these early months. They're the ones where you set them down and they stay in that exact spot. Watching them learn to walk and talk is an amazing experience. But w/ that mobility comes more work for you and Mom ;)

They'll be wanting bicycles in a few years, and getting married soon after that, or so it will seem.

Don't miss out on the in between time.

Congratulations! Now, you will learn what Charles Dickens meant when he wrote, "These are the best of times and the worst of times." Having raised 6 children who are all now grown, I can tell you that NOTHING is better than being called "Daddy."

Like has been said, try to enjoy every minute, it goes by so fast. Mine are 13 and 15, so my time is almost gone. And it went fast. Wouldn't trade it for anything though. You don't know what love is until you have children. Granted, you spend the first year teaching them to walk and talk, and the next 17 trying to get them to sit down and shut up!

Being a dad is a great way of life. Congratulations my friend.

I think I'll add a story....

At my house everyone had chores.I have 2 boys, and one of their jobs was police call.We kept a large wire cage for aluminum cans.I noticed a lot of the cans were out of the cage and on the ground.I told them that they needed to be picked up.A day or two later..still cans on the ground. This time I got a little more aggressive in my orders."But dad..we cleaned them up!" Well why are they still on the ground?

This went on for a week or better.I tell them to clean up the cans, they swear they did. They were in their early teens at the time.

One day,the wife and I were sitting on the porch having coffee.I heard a noise, looked over, several squirrels were in the cage throwing out the cans.

Kids are great!!! You'll love them.

Sorry to hear that. Your reloading hobby just went on hiatus as reloading and casting when you haven't slept in 3 days is a dicey thing. :kidding:

The kids I inherited were all grown up. Where did you get the middle names?

William Gunn is my wife's family's name...
and I'm sure you know where Mikhail came from.....

Jonp is unfortunately right about the hiatus. I haven't spent more then 15 consecutive minutes at a time at my reloading bench in 3yrs. That's not been a huge problem since I've only been to the range a handful of times since then too. As sad as that is its ok because I am a blessed, very happy man with my two kids. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Your twins are beautiful.
