Anyone have any good suggestions for a .45 cal. bullet mold that is 500 gr. or heavier and is pointed not round nose or flat nose and can be sized to .459?
A single cavity would be fine.

Thanks,

John

The only sure way to get a mould of that description would be to order a custom mould. I'd personally specify .460" and NEI would be my choice in meehanite blocks. Now, we're talking $100 here but if you get a stock production mould, chances are it will run from .457-459' unless you're really lucky.

Or find someone with a large diamtere that's willing to sell or trade it.

I'd opt for the custom mould./beagle

I found the current NEI website in the sticks listing and it sure seems to me they had a 45 mold that fit your description listed in the catalog. just in case you can't spot it: www.neihandtools.com

Hope this helps.

John, two bullets that I have the best groups at 1000 yds:
Lyman 457132
Paul Jones 45001
They are 535 and 540gr bullets. Alloy 1:20 and black powder works best for me

Lee has a 500 3R bullet that is pretty pointy. It's near the bottom of the above ling page.
