I just started casting with a Mountain Molds custom mold I ordered cut for the .416 gas checks. I have not shot any of the bullets yet but have seated some of the checks. I'm using my orange Lyman 450 and a Lyman .413 die. They go in to the die with some resistance and come out the same way. Look OK. I think if I was trying to size these to .410 or .411 it would be a lot more difficult and I might do it in 2 steps, .413 with no lube and then down to final diameter with lube.

the problem with 41s is theres about 4 differnt sized shanks that they cut bullets with. Lymans need lyman checks (which are discontinued) the 416 horndays fit some but dont seem to fit any perfectly Best bet is to meaure your shank and get ahold of gator checks. He has a few differnt sizes he does and will set you up for what you need and do it cheaper then lyman or hornady.

Where do I get hold of Gator Checks and what are they? Copper? Aluminum? Crimp on?
