Come on back Carpetman :( ! Don't let a little prudery and chastisement chase you off. The rampant puffery is insufferable without you. We really need your saber wit to keep the egomaniacs in check!

Shooters.com is dead, Long Live Shooters.com! jethrow

Hey Jethro Strait--I came back in case you did so I could keep up with the tale of the pink flashlight. You have anything at all about the pink flashlight you can tell us?

 As you know mon frere, the pf and it's mistress are long gone to Houston. Guess she figured she was better off with a 50% pay raise and the pf, rather than me. Some of them school principals aint dumb as they sound, ya know. So, all alone, I sit casting boolits in the garage, singin sad country songs, and crying into the sprue steamer sponge(trying all the while to miss the pot of alloy). Lost my gal, but I've still got sweet galena!

Salutations to you Curmudge; happy to see you're back in the USA. Yeah, I followed the scent of the elusive aimoo, mainly lurking, but posted now and then as the Galena Kid.

Jethro, there's a heap of comfort in sad country songs. Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but as you say there is still Sweet Galena. I really enjoy my new home in Nevada. If I look out the dining room window, I can see the line of cottonwoods that mark the course of Galena Creek, about 400 yds. away. There is, or was, an old lead mine up in the mountains, maybe I could go panning for lead. Anybody have a recipe for smelting galena? Regards, curmudgeon

Hey Jethrow

Was just curious if you know a fellow that lives up your way by the name of Robert Denyer, he used to shoot quite a bit at the three points range. Would you believe I started shooting at the Three Point Range in 1969. Time fly's!

Not sure if he still does or not.

He was big into the Single shot pistol game, and a gun nut in general, heck of a nice fellow, he was getting his life back together after a divorce when I met him, he is sort of kind of responsible for getting me hooked on cast bullets, I remember he was the first one I ever seen use one of those corn stick pans for a ingot mold.

Also another old buddy lives up there his name is Westly Relitz, I think he still works for the water company up there. Last time I heard from him he had just bought a New Holland Back hoe and a dump truck.

I have a lot of memories from your part of the world, I spent alot of time on the North end of the MTN, I imagine it has pretty well filled in by now .

I used to have my wife drop me off over off Mission RD about daylight and I would hike ,hunt ,shoot, explore my way across and have her pick me up at Cisco at Sundown. Then we would go down to the Arena and get a steak and suck down a few beers. I guess the last time I did that was 97.

1969 at the 3 Points Range! Guess you experienced the whole silhouette bloom back then, including the first two national championships. Actually pistol silhouette has made a bit of a comeback lately. In fact, they're hosting the state championship this weekend.

Don't know your buddies personally, but my rangemaster shooting buddy tells me they are regulars on the pistol range on Weds or Thursdays.

Yep it's growing up way too much here, and in a californicating kinda way too. In the last three years big time developers have just about paved both sides of Valencia almost out to Ryan Field. Still a long way from me out at Diamond Bell Ranch, but it's making it a real pain just to go to the edge of town for groceries every week or ten days. jethrow
