Is it just me, or are .35 caliber gas checks getting hard to find? I've cast up a bunch of the heavy rnfp's and need some gas checks for them.

Midway and Midsouth shooting supply are both backordered.

Anyone want to trade a couple hundred .44's for same quantity of .35's?

Midway doesn't even list 25 cal. gas checks in either Hornady or Lyman. DALE

If I have any left from the GB in 35 and 25 cal I'll put up an add.

I think that they were on closeout special at Midway a month or two ago.

It was an "Inventory reduction" sale. They still have them.

I guess I should have specified that they were out of the Hornady, which is what I was looking for (if I was going to be buying a full box).

Pumpguy.

Sent the .44 gaschecks out on Tuesday, did you get them yet?

Thanks.

Hmmmmm, I hope I didn't just toss two hundred gaschecks to the wind.

I needed some 35 caliber gas checks for NEERB's 358627 mould. Most of the "big boys" seem to be out. When I took the new Australian Shepherd puppy for his shots this morning, I stopped at Dunn's Sporting Goods in Pevely MO and got two boxes of HORNADY 35 gc for $22 each...all that was on the shelf.

I want to try these in my little 1894 Cowboy 357 and Original Size VAQUEROS.

PS Wish us luck with the flooding around St Louie. I had to drive an extra 15 miles each way to work and my alternate route on I-44 is looking shaky. I hate wasting boolit money on gasoline!

"Inventory reduction sale" what a joke at $32.29 I'll keep shooting them slow:)

I ordered 1000 7 mm GC from Graf's today to double my supply for a seldom used caliber, and 1000 6.5 mm GC because i might someday get a muld in that caliber. I'm guessing that all GC except .30, .35, .44 and .45 are on the endangered list.

NVcurmudg,

I'm having second thoughts... I was in you camp a couple of weeks ago, but now I'm not so sure. It seems casting is in a resurgence and we may not only see some recently dropped GCs re-emerge, but also some mould designs that should still be available (410459 comes to mind immediately, but there are others). Don't you think it odd that the one .41 cal pistol mould Lyman sells is the 410610 SWC GC, yet they, nor anyone else, is curretly selling .41 cal GCs? My theory is that most folks who shoot .41 Mag. run it to the hilt and feel a GC necessary. On the other hand, the 410459 ("Keith") mould will do it all, from blooping out the muzzle and dropping in front of the bench to 1300 - 1400 fps with no leading, given the correct alloy and lube. They're gonna have to do one or the other. Either bring back the GCs or re-introduce the FB Keith style, along with a bucket full of others that have been dropped in the last 10 years. I'm guessing there will be a BUNCH of re-introductions in the next year or so. The market will demand it.

Regards,

Stew
