Shilen barrels has a twist and weight guide on their Web site. They list the amount of twist needed for 1000 yds. Heavier bullets will shoot in slower twist but only stabilize so far.

Welcome to the site! My whelen has a 1/14 twist and shoots 200 to 280 gr. boolits all very well.
I would think 200 to 250 gr. would do well in your 1/16. There are some good molds out there in the 230 gr. range that would split the difference and probably be all you ever need.

Probably any of them from 125gr pistol boolits up to the 300gr thumpers. Mid range, say 190gr-230gr would work for sure. Take a look at the NOE Ranch Dog 360-230, it's a great boolit! The 35XCB looks very promising too and a group buy is ongoing (moving at light speed) at the NOE site.
