I have a couple thousand 250 gr. RNFP boolits. They shoot great in a handgun . My question. They have a concave base and I want to use them in a carbine. They are 18 bhn. I don't understand the purpose of the concave base. Will a carbine load be too much as I want to push them 1300 - 1400 fps.

I guess everyone is on my level. Never seen a concave base boolit ! Close this thread down.

Wouldn't bet on it. However, concave base bullets are not at all unusual, and are routinely driven to 1300 - 1400 fps. Further, your hardness of 18 bhn is plenty hard for your application. I run bullets of 12 bhn as fast at 1600 - 1800 fps with very good accuracy and without leading.
