Anybody loading cast for one of these? Any experience available will be appreciated. My 7X65R should be here in less than a month and I'm contemplating using CB's in it as well as FLGC's, IF I can get reasonable velocities (>2500 fps) out of it w/o leading. I know fast twist barrels have been a problem (6.5's and 7mm's) so don't know it it's worth the hassle. Lower velocities are not likely to be acceptable as the rifle will be regulated for 156 gr. FLGC's at ~ 2700 - 2800 fps. Accuracy will be non-existent, or at least unacceptable at ranges beyond 25 - 50 yards at velocities much below ~2500 fps. Pilgrim

I've had some success with the 280 Rem. with cast bullets, but not at 2,500 fps.

Matter of fact, I've never had any success with a cast bullet in ANY 7 mm - 30 cal. at those kinds of speeds.

You can get some real good accuracy with cast bullets in the 7 mm's , but it will need to be in the 1,700 fps zone ( + or - 1,000 fps. )

My thoughts on the subject, possibly someone else will see it differently.
