every body but nato is out of them.
they are being banned you know.
this makes them shoot faster, straighter, and further.....ohhh, they will also shoot through a
ww-2 tiger tank from 600 yds.

Yeah I heard they banned these right after they closed Doe Run.

100% true. I tested this personally with no witnesses and verify it all as fact.

I believe Doe run made the lead alloy used in the bullet under the penetrator. When Doe run shut down, the supply for the lead became a bit...strained. Then Cerebrus (owned by Soros) bought out the manufacturer of 62 gr green tip bullets and shut them down along with Marlin and Remington.

But they haven't stopped the Ghost Gun..

"This is a ghost gun,” de Leon begins, holding an unloaded rifle in his hands. “This right here has the ability with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second.”

Gunbot.net has bullets. You might find what you are looking for there at a decent price by watching that site. I figure if not for the hype over the ban those green tips would be what they were before. Cheap ammo that worked well enough. As opposed to the armor piercing, anti-aircraft, engine busting high powered .22's they became. If the shift in power was applied across the board it would make a .50 cal ML into heavy artillery.

Good luck finding it at a good price now that it is being made from kryptonite.

Meh I will load Hornady 55 grain... for my use(plinking) just fine. Working on a cast boolit(powder coated) for my AR... hard part is coming up with a powder coating rack for the tiny little boolits

Damn they have gone up. Use to be able to get twice as many for less than that. It's almost cheaper to buy plinking ammo than handload these days :what:

"Cheap" and "endangered" mutually exclude each other.

The irony is that M855 is a poor design for "armor piercing".

I use a two plate system to hold my 225 cast boolits for PC. It is made out of two thin steel plates, they have matching holse drilled in each corner. One is blank, the other has holes that 22 LR cases will slip into. I put empty 22 LR cases in the drilled one, put the other on top to sandwich the lips between the plates and secure with 4 screws through both plates. It is loaded with 75 grn cast GC'ed boolits, nose down, ESPC sprayed, then baked and loaded.

41.6 cents each for mil-spec ball ammo bullets, twice the price of many Sierra Matchkings. Craziness.

That was for loaded ammo 9.3X62AL but yes I agree, the price is crazy.

I personly don't own any green tip but do have around 1k black tip for loading in 223 and 308. A much better choice but can't find them anymore.

Well, the brass can be first-rate. Maybe 41.6 cents isn't highway robbery--just mild-to-moderate profiteering. I do like that Lake City 5.56 brass.

The M-855 has been a no-go in California for many years, those ferrous penetrators impacting granitic rock start A LOT of fires. Just like flint-and-steel at a rendezvous. Gotta be careful about bullet material in dry conditions, steel/iron-derived jacketing, core elements, or gas checks are unsafe from a wildland fire prevention standpoint. Lead, on the other hand, is VERY safe.

there are far better bullets to be had than M855's at less cost! We civilians ARE NOT bound by the geneva convention so there's no sense of using some type of non expanding bullet! You can do alot worse than bulk 55gr Hornady or Winchester 60 gr bullets. If you want better than that look at Barnes expanding solid copper or balistic tip bullets from Nosler, Hornady, Sierra or some other manufacturer of that type bullets.

Actually, it's the Hague Convention that applies to military ammunition.

The US refused to ratify this amendment, and still has taken no steps towards adopting it.

Several years back I use to sell that stuff for next to nothing . In fact many times it sat on the shelf collecting dust.
