My daughters archery team has won the Archery in Mississippi Schools state tournament again! Three years in a row they have won , her school Simpson Central has some real shooters. Anyone can try out for the teams if eligible and shooters come from all walks of life. The equipment is provided by the school or can be purchased privately, so the playing field is level amongst all competitors. Race, gender, and age vary from 4th grade to 12th at this competition ,some shooting for the first time at state, some seniors shooting for the last time before college level. Finally a school sport I can and do support. Now for gratuitous victory pics...

Congratulations. Are they shooting Olympic/FITA rules with recurves?

Give her a big congrat's from 35 shooter. I shot competition archery for years and loved it.
That is quite an accomplishment for her. She and her team certainly has the ability to relax under pressure to repeat like that each year.

Thanks for the kind words , she is really living it up right now. They shoot 15 arrows at 10 and 15 at 15 meters. No sights on compound bows , a Matthews Genesis.

Congrats! I'm sure you're very proud.

Mathews makes good stuff. I love my ZX-7 Xtreme I purchased 5-6 years ago. Been a while since I "upgraded". May have to look into it this year.

Nice to see she goes to a "progressive" school. Even suggesting this to my admin would warrant getting fired! Cudos and congrats from Central PA! Love to see kids involved in any shooting sport.

Nice to see she goes to a "progressive" school.

What????

Seems as though it may be more conservative than progressive...considering that it is a government school.

Being sarcastic, shoot-n-lead. In my warped world, any school that still allows shooting sports is way progressive, in a wonderfully conservative kinda way.
