Did anyone one else get in on the RD 150 grain boolit for the 7.62x39? I tried a few out yesterday, loaded some with 13grains of 4227 and a few with 26grains of reloader 15. They both shot well with the 13gr of 4227 being the more accurate of the two. I hope to have some more loaded today to try some more loads. I am using these in a Zastava mini Mauser, nice little rifle with beautiful wood. I just bedded the action and floated the barrel which seems to have helped quite a bit in the accuracy/consistency department. The barrel channel had two really high spots and the area around the front of action and recoil lug were really sloppy.

JW,

Did you check out Ranch Dog's Load Data for the TLC313-150-RF on either the NOE group buy thread, or the Ranch Dog Outdoors website? There's a lot of load data available for that bullet.

I shot an SKS at just 50 yards to check out the new NOE Ranch Dog 313-150 HP's. Initial tests with Reloader 7 show a lot of promise. A 2 1/2" first group (10 shot) with 5 shots in a tight cluster using 21.0gr. These were tumble lubed with LLA and coated with Ben's Liquid Lube. I'm sure the wind with >25 MPH gusts influenced this group.

Using some PC'd with the same 21.0gr Reloader 7, shot a 10 shot group at about 4". Increasing the charge on the PC'd boolits to 22 and 23gr opened the groups up to "where did they go". Want to check what 20.0gr will do.

Dave,
I did check that load data out, lots of good loads for sure. I find myself using more midrange loads this time of year, no need to run things wide open for plinking and bumming around the woods.

hey JW.
I shoot the 155 gn NOE ranch dog mold in my 7.62x39 bolt action. I found that 17.2 gn of the 4227 gets me about 1.5" at 100y. sizzles along at 1800 cronied. a couple of hunting seasons ago I shot my first deer at 185 yards. it dropped him where he stood. im running a brinel of 13-14 and it was a pencil size hole in and a quarter size hole out.
I have had the best luck with the 4227 powder. My gun did very poorly with the 2400 which many swear by. unique did good for accuracy but poor for speed.

I shot again on Sunday and used the same tumble lubed boolits with 21gr and 22 gr Reloader 7. Groups remained about 2 1/2" with no clusters this time.

Also shot ESPC'd boolits with 20gr Reloader 7, getting a 3" group.

I'm experiencing jamming on the first boolit going into the chamber on the SKS. It doesn't lift up and in. All others in the magazine seem to feed fine.
