Dunno. Some online retailers like Wideners also has all the different Alliant powders at different prices.

As an aside, research the GLOBAL .22 rimfire annual production. Now research the number of Wal-Worlds in the USA. Then figure, say, 5 bricks per store to get there inventory up. See a problem? Sheesh.

That's not too far off from the average around here. I think I found some for $23-$24 a few years ago. If I could find a few of the powders I need all in stock on some online retailer, I'd just order it and pay the hazmat. It would be cheaper that way.

I can understand why .22 are hard to find. Just about every shooter uses them, and new shooters go through them like hot cakes. Why is the powder so hard to find though? There's not THAT many reloaders. The funny thing is, primers are ALWAYS in stock at every store I go to. But the powder? The popular ones like Unique, Bullseye, and 2400 are almost impossible to find. I just finished off my last bit of unique, and I doubt I'll find any more any time soon. It seems like the only pistol powder not effected is Red Dot. I can find that stuff pretty easy, and Green Dot and Blue dot are not impossible to find either.

Man, I don't know about BE, but 2400 even up here was 23.99 the last time it hit the shelf, ofcoarse I only got the limit 1 day as it was gone before they closed.

One more reason to love Texas. Back in the 90s when Slick Willy was breaking gun sales records we couldn't get primers. I overheard one LGS employee joking with another one, "Mark (the owner) doesn't put price tags on primers anymore, he just takes bids as they come off the truck."

Well if that don't beat all. Maybe there is hope now for my 2# backorder from last June at Lohman's.

There was a supply problem in that ADI had a fire in the facility that makes pistol powders. BUT most of the problem is that people are stockpiling. The retail supply that should be on the shelves is stacked up in peoples reloading rooms. It is not "bad" or "foolish" for the consumer to invest in a larger quantity of a commodity when they have had to struggle to locate it for purchase but the side effect is scarcity in the market place.

Congrats on finding the powder. The price is up there tho But I would pay it if I needed it. 2400 hasn't been seen around here in a couple years, i have been lucky enough to find BE and Unique as well as couple lbs of 231, HP38 and powder pistol each recently. If powder gets to previous, I've got a couple slingshots too and as blowgun.

I turn my nose up at 8 pound jugs of unique and bulls-eye and walk on past usually.

I finally seen some 2400 [after what 2 years now] and stooped low enough to buy 2-1 lb canisters.
I almost never,ever buy powder by the 1 pound bottle.
the price break is about 4 dollars a pound going to the 8lb jugs.

At 4 gr. / load that = 2.41 cents per round on Bullseye......still not that bad....IMHO

I just swapped an 8 lb jug of unique for 16 pounds of AA-4100.
I think I come out okay on the swap :lol:

I went back the next day to maybe buy some more and most of the powder was sold out. Dang!

I spent the weekend at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot. Of the two hundred or so vendors there, exactly two had smokeless powder.

GI Brass had a few mil-surps (Jeff laughed at me when I asked for WC680 :oops:).

Hi-Teck had two flavors of pistol powders that most of us never heard of. Prices were decent so I got some just to try it out.
