My buddy Texgn was searching for a faster load for 32wspc.s. I'm thinking of doing the same thing using Blc2. I cast a 165gr accurate gc bullet that is loaded to the base of the neck. Extrapulating, I believe 30gr starting load would be safe. Has anyone used this powder with cast in this calibre or perhaps a 30/30.

BL-C2 is a powder I looked at but I don't see much of it around here so haven't seriously considered it. I have plenty of LVR and that load is looking pretty good so far. I believe your extrapolations are correct; Hornady (9th Edition) shows a starting load for a 170gr j-word of 29.9grs BL-C2 @ 1800 fps and a max of 36.4grs for 2100 fps.

I use 28-30 grs BLc-2 in my 30/30's with 150 gr boolits and see a load listed for the 32 WSP of 28 grs starting for up to a 173 gr Boolit in my reloading notes. I have also used it with 170gr boolits in my 30/30's

I know of a much faster 32 cal load.
only problem is they call it the 8 mauser and it's built on a bolt gun frame.
 :kidding:

I think you'll be fine.

runfiverun, I've got a few Lovern 32's cast and lubed for my Yugo Mauser, that's my next project.

Thanks for the input Gents.

BLC-2 is nearly identical to H335 and I have used these two interchangeably (as supplies have permitted) in .30-30 Winchester for about 30 years. My .30-30 load is the Lee C309-170RF over 30 grains BLC-2 or H335, standard primer. Bullets cast of 50/50 wheel weights/linotype, Hornady crimp-on gas check. These have taken dozens and dozens of deer over the years, and my sons and grandkids send their brass back to Grampa every year for a fresh supply.

If anything, the slightly larger bore diameter of the .32 Winchester Special should make it less sensitive than .30-30. Might not be a bad idea to back off the starting charge a bit, perhaps 27 or 28 grains.

Best regards.

I already loaded 8 rounds with my accurate 165gr with 30 grs of BALLC, 5 for a group and 3 over the chrono. I've used 30/30 data for most of my loads since there's not much info for the 32. Happy to hear from folks who have used the powder. Now if the wind would let up.

Look on castpics. One load you will find is one I worked up years ago with 844 pull down powder and easily got over 2K with very good accuracy using the RCBS 170 FN.

Also, not having data for 32 Win Spl is not that big a problem. There is a plethora of data for 30-30 - use it. For equal weight boolits/bullets the pressure will be less in the 32 (larger bore and slower twist). From there you can work up.

I should think Ball-C type 2 should do well in the 32 W.S. I use H335 in mine with complete satisfaction.

Ok, finally got to the range. Used one of my old loads to foul the barrel before shooting a 1.25" five shot 50yd group (better than i can see). The blc2 loads averaging aged about 200fps faster than my 5744 load, average 1840fps and I didn't have to weigh each charge. Since
its a tanker 94 (16" barrel) I'm thinking close to 2000fps from a 20" barrel. Anyway, thanks for the input, I believe I have found my go to load for my 32wspc. Oh yeah, and my 32/20 pb and hb ground squirrel load clocks @ 1100fps. Hopefully a couple of weeks from now I may get to try em out.
