MYPIN TA4 PID Help needed

The set up reads the pot temp fine but the power output is not right. Power to the pot doesn't kick in.
I measure 120v, but only 0.1 amps.

What did I do wrong.

I'm sure you probably need more info to help diagnose - what do you need to help guide me?

Check your wires to the SSR, sounds like they're switched. I did the same thing!

I'd need to know more but look at your SSR wiring. The leads from the PID to the SSR control whether it's on or off. The output of the PID is just a switch on the hot side of the 110. Sounds like something not wired quite right but hard to guess from here.

Here are some pics.

The PID is reading & displaying the correct temp. When I change the Set Value above or below PV, the PID seems to operate as expected - Power up or down. I see this by pressing the SET button once to see the power % output.

Some questions.
1) What voltage conditions should I expect coming out of the PID across pins 3 & 4? AC or DC?

2) Do i have the wrong type SSR? It show Input of 80-280 VAC.

Any suggestions on what to look for or test ?

Don't know which PID you have. On my SYL-2352 the output is 12V DC. Couldn't find the spec on my Rex C100 but both my SSR's require DC voltage. 3-32VDC on one and 4.5 VDC on the other one. I'd think you have the wrong SSR but without knowing what your particular PID puts out can't be positive.

Yep I think the SSR is the culprit. I was doing some basic testing of the SSR with 9v dc and the circuit was staying open. As I starred at it, the answer was right in front of me. This SSR has in input range of 80-280VAC which of course is not in any way what the PID outputs - duh :killingpc

Definitely the wrong SSR, you need one with a DC input.

Dude u need 80 plus ac to get your ssr on. Get a different relay.

I have the Mypin TA4 with a 40A SSR. My SSR input side says 3-24VDC.

Only Mypin manual I could find shows 24V DC output so you definitely need a SSR with the DC input.

New (correct type) SSR arrived and it's all better now. Everything like its supposed to.
