I have just started with unique, and filler, 8, 10, 12, grains and 12 grains is best so far, now going to do 12, 14, 16, 18 gr to see what happens.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I am not trying to reinvent the wheel.

Using lee and ohaus molds.

Let me know anything to save range time.

michael m, welcome to the forum. Most .41 Mags are gonna want a lead boolit of at least .410 diameter to fit the bore. Also, Unique is NOT a powder that one wants to be using with fillers. You need to do more reading of load manuals, and you are in the right forum to ask questions, please continue to do so. JW

The title did not come out right. I cast, then size to .408 41 mag cast bullets (200 to 230 grain) to shoot in my c.sharps 40/65 rifle. Just looking for an reasonable low recoil fun load for 100 yd shooting.

Hi michael!
Welcome to the forum!
I shoot a LOT of rifle cartridges using Unique, and I agree with JW - rifle or pistol, I've never needed or could see a use for filler in those loads.
For some really fun >>closer<< shooting, try some roundball loads!

Sorry michael, I guess the 40/65 didn't register through my thick skull. Now maybe I can offer some better help. I cast an old Lyman 410426, about a 240 gr. round nose boolit. This is a single cavity mold but it casts beautiful boolits, I am loading them for a heavy load in my 41 mags. I believe the boolit was originally designed for the .405 Winchester. I first tried 50/50 of ww/pure but was getting to small diameter, so I then went to Lyman 2 alloy and they are coming out right at .410. If you think you would want to try some just pm me and I bet we could work something out. The softer ww/pure ones were dropping at about .408. JW
