Hey guys,
what is a reliable way to pull bullets that is efficient and relatively easy?

I hace used the forester push thru puller with jacketed bullets and it was fast easy and quick. I use a kenetic puller ( hammer type) with cast and it works well it a solid surface is available. On some I just run thru the press opening and grap bullet with pliers and lower ram. Experiment and see what works best for you. Some bullets require a certain set-up. Wad cutters are one as ther is no bullet sticking out to grab onto. Some military are varnish sealed and need to be seated a little deeper to break that bond. Heavy crimps may pose issues also.

What do you want to save? A collet type puller will leave some lines but the bullets are usually shootable. Hammer type may take a while, surest way is to put them in a shell holder, run them up into your press, grab the bullet with vicegrips and lower the ram. Toss the bullet back in to the melting pot and you're done.

Cam lock seems to work best for me. I had a kinetic but it busted and took longer. Cam lock makes quick work of it.

I've used a kinetic puller for years and it has served my needs very well. One trick that I picked here was to use one of my muffin ingots to strike it on.

If the cartridge is too short to run up through an empty die hole and grab, just put a short piece of pipe over the ram and do the same thing.

If you want to save the bullet with no marking - then I would recommend the kinetic puller. Just put a cotton ball in the end of it, so you don't smash the bullet tip when you pound away. May not be the fastest method, but it will get the job done.

the whack-a-mole puller works great.

A foam ear plug works great also.

I use this method
however IF I am not going to save them I put them in a shell holder in my single stage press and raise the ram with bullet, boolit and grip with pliers and lower ram
leaving offending projectile in pliers

If all you want is for the brass to be empty, you could always pull them with your trigger. :bigsmyl2:

If there is a problem with the loads, you may want to use a different method.

One more suggestion for the Kinetic bullet puller is to MAKE SURE you have securely tightened down the cap each and every time.

Have pulled LOTS of cast boolits with the kinetic style hammer type. Never broke one! And I whack it on the anvil portion of my 6" Wilton vise. 2-3 blows and all is resolved.

Most boolits (even PC!) can be reused, since I do not crimp the carp out of them! To pull FMJ's I use an RCBS collet puller for 30 cal.

I have used my Quinetics Corp kinetic bullett hammer since 1985. I had used the grip die upside down until last year. Now have the die in the right orientation, and gets the job done.

I use a kinetic puller on military surplus with the tar seals and it seems that the cap needs checked after almost every whack. It does the job quickly if checked for tightness. I think this may cause some of the failure that's common with some users.

The only rounds that have confounded my Kinetic Bullet Puller was some 25 year old 222 reloads. the 55 grain bullet didn't have much more inertia than the brass and I pulled the rims off.

It has worked on everything else for 35 years. The aluminum collet got de-rimmed but I just used a shell holder upside down in the puller and kept on.

I have been using my press with the appropriate shell holder and one of those cheap wire stripper/ crimper tools. Run the shell up through the hole in the press, grab the bullet with the stripper portion of the jaws so that the crimper tool comes down flat on the top of the press , and pull. I was using vice grip pliers but they started to booger up the top thread in the press die hole. There were some tools available that were caliber specific that I took this idea from, they were expensive.

I use a kinetic and hit it on a piece of railroad track. One good whack does the trick.

Only thing that irks me is pulling GC boolits, always seems to leave the GC in the case neck. Takes a little fiddling to get hold of it, comes out easy enough. GW

If I have a lot to pull I use my RCBS collet type, for just 1 or 2 I use a pair of pliers or cutters and the top of my Rockchucker. I would be finished before I even get the bullet puller out of the box.

I have used the RCBS kinetic bullet puller for decades and never had a problem with cast bullets. When on occasion I have had to pull a jacketed bullet I have rolled the case neck between 2 metal bars or wood chisels; it loosens the neck around the bullet and in some instances the bullet can then be pulled out of the case with fingers. I have a kinetic puller. Quit using it a while back and went to the hornady camlock. Faster and the wife doesn't complain about the noise.
