Hello members, I am new here but not new to casting bullets. I have a Ideal double cavity mold. One cavity is 357 - 429. The other cavity is 446- 421. I am using the 357 cavity to cast linotype bullets that weigh 146gr. Was the 357 - 429 ever offered as a standard mold? Thank you for any help, John

Are you sure the second cavity isn't 429421? You could at one time order moulds from Lyman that had two different cavities in them. If they were 357429 and 429421, it would belong to an Elmer Keith fan who used his designs in his 38 Spl/357 Magnum and .44 Spl/.44 Magnum, respectively. They were both very popular designs; lots of them around. But Lyman moulds with two different cavities are not very common at all.

I can't find a Lyman/Ideal number for 446421.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try to post a picture of the mold.

Ok new guy here with a really cool mold, are you going to now really hurt us and say you only paid twenty five dollars for it and it came with the handles?
