His girlfriends ex-boyfriend murdered her in fronts of her 2 kids. This happened about 2-3yrs ago and from what I remember he's been taking care of the kids.

He got involved with a woman who was married, I think he too was married at the time, who was killed by her husband, who had apparently also killed his first wife. He had agreed to take in her children which never happened and he had a daughter of his own. The dead woman's children were taken in by her father after the biological father was convicted and incarcerated.
