Hello all, my 17yo daughter wants to join a ladies group for informal pistol competion. She will be shooting my glock 19 as shes most comfortable with that gun. Im thinking of buying 1k of 124gr fmj bullets but have no idea of their quality. Bullets are armscor bullets that would be loaded to a middle of the road velocities. Ive usually steer clear of armscor ammo because of all sorts of problems with powder charges, loose bullets etc. Has anyone loaded any of these bullets? Any problems, wildly differing weights? Im just trying to keep costs down on this endeavor. Any help or suggestions wouldbe appreciated.

My suggestion is buy a lee mold install a set screw on the sprue bolt and cast her 2k in about 4hrs., then forget about armscor and their prices.

I'd look into a 4-6 cavity mold and Hi-Tek or powdercoated boolits. So far, both have done well in my Gen4 Glock 19.

Since you're looking to keep the costs down, maybe start with a Lee mold. I've had the Glock running the 100gr Lee WFNs meant for the .380 pretty nicely. I sure would like one of those fancy slick side molds from Hardline Industries though.

You can always sort them as to wieght and size. Also you might look around and see what else is available. Berrys Rainers and others. Some of the mill surpluss venders may have military pill downs for 9mm.

Plateds will work well or You could use SNS coated boolits.

I'd also look into plated bullets if you don't want to get into making coated boolits. I've always done well with Berrys before I cast, and once in a while even still with some of my older stock. Zero bullets and Montana Gold were always good for me in jacketed. I never tried Armscor.

My wife likes the 115 gr and the 124 gr in the extreme . Most of my shooting is (cast in 45 acp) but i have purchased several thousand in the 9mm for her.

If real boolits are not an option I seem to recall Berry's bullets are pretty good. One of their reps used to hang out on TFL and he seemed to be a good guy to deal with and gave some good pointers about his product. They had a HB RN 200 gr 45ACP bullet that looked and fed like a 230 ball round.

I am planning to get the lee 6 cav .356-125-2r mold anyway. I already pc my boolits but wouLd like to try extremes. May just first try the 250 pack first though.
