That looks like the Mission Mountains, at Ninepipes Reservoir, south of me a ways.

Lupines are one of the flowers I miss from growing up in Maine.

My redbuds are taking on an encouraging purplish tone, need to hunt up a mesquite tree just to be sure but it looks like spring is coming to my spot on the prairie. Last week I was shoveling snow and ice off the back steps, last night I fired up the BBQ grill (in shirtsleeves!) and had an awesome wild pork loin. Yep, shovel's back in the tool shed.

Yanks and Pommies, so easily confused. Those of who live on top of the world are waiting for Summer to end.

Looking forward to taking my sixteen year old grandson to the range to try out his Christmas/birthday (both in December) present. An FN made Mk. 2 Browning Hi-Power. Of course, he can't take possession until he is eighteen. I have been teaching him hand gun safety and to load 9mm. Next is going to be how to cast his own boolits with an H&G six cavity #275 mould.

Daffodils are blooming and apricot trees are so we have one more hard freeze coming coming.

Breathtaking picture! Get's in your blood if you look at it for very long.
My hope for spring is that the picture in the OP would be a metaphoric expression of the fortunes and blessings on each and every member of this site; their families, careers, endeavors, hopes and dreams.
2015 will be the greatest year that the cast boolit community has ever experienced if I have anything to do with it!
I was telling Angie way back in 2013 that 2014 was going to be a real drag, and 2015 was going to be victorious beyond words. I don't think it's just me either. Seems like everyone I know had a hard time in 2014, and has good things happening in 2015.
I don't know why, but 2015 just feels like a year of "new beginnings" for so many people. I know it is for me, and that beautiful picture pretty much sums it up.

Out west here my hopes for a miracle March are pretty much shot in the donkey. There's barely a skiff of snow left above 10,000 ft. Summer is here I saw a critter affectionately know as a stink bug this morning and lizards last week. The Truckee river won't flow from Tahoe this yr as it is 8 ft below the natural rim. 8 doubt that Walker has had a drop of water from the rivers in 3 yr. In a few weeks we will be prime for a catastrophic dry lighting fire storm .

My hope ? A nice spring blizzard for about 3 weeks just east of anything that feeds LA ,Diego, Sacramento or anything known as the bay area let them tree huggers drink the rising ocean.

Yeah I know I chose to live in the desert but the terminal lake that had 100sq mi of surface area is now down in the low 70s and optimistically 60 feet lower than just 15 yr ago so about 225 feet since 1900. Fish no longer survive, jet skis eat the pump seals out in 2 seasons. The algae roll over should be in full bloom in the next month or so. Not bad for a lake that 25 yr ago had a 16" minimum keep rule and 50 yr ago had not only a mackinaw commercial fishery but pictures of trout on willow limbs held chest high dragging in the dirt. Outside of the Avacado trees having survived I think my spring hopes are pretty well dead.
