Pyro CTG

I ended up with 3 pounds of Pyrodex CTG in a recent trade. I have no idea what to do with it. I guess I could repackage it in black or red and white cans and use it in the 54 to plink with in the cap gun.
A FFFG starter under it to get it to burn?

Any ideas?

Pyrodex CTG should light off ok but you are going to have be careful with it, although it is really coarse stuff and takes all day to get lit completely, a guy in Honolulu at Kokohead bulged his barrel using this stuff and I can only believe that it was so cruddy that he short started it, or, the bullet got started hit some crud, slowed down a microsecond, and slow build up of pressure spiked somehow.

I'd swab between shots in any event.
