My Sister may be moving down that way. Anyone live in the area and can tell me what areas are nice and what to stay away from. She has a couple of horses, so she would want a little acreage(10 ish). Any decent realtors (if such a thing) you could recommend? Thanks

Tell her to look in Shelby County, just south of Birmingham. The Helena area is a nice area as well. Avoid the north and west sides.

What he said ^^^. Stay out of Jefferson County. South is definitely better. Helena isn't bad. Pelham and Alabaster are nice too.

How about a little farther out like Childersburg or Sylacauga?

Sylacauga is nice. My first bride was from there and I still have friends there.

'Never spent much time in Childersburg.

I have a friend who lives in Warrior to the north. I visited in 2005. Nice area.

I'm 35 miles N or Birmingham.

That's about as close as I get without my Ruger 454 Casull.

What Ben said, especially the part about the Ruger 454. I avoid Birmingham like the plague! Any of the counties surrounding Jefferson are a lot better that that sewer.
