I've got a super 14 in the safe I used to deer hunt with but have not had it out in years. Question is, will they shoot cast worth a darn. 130 Hornadys do great but do I even want to try cast. That brings up the question, what mould should I get and what velocity should I aim for. Or do I just let it stay where it is?

the 7mm Hunter from NOE is dandy in the 7-30 waters. My Contender loves it!

I'd go for it!

If you want I can take the old unused thing for 5-6 years and work up some loads.

Most of the TC 7mm barrels are capable of amazing accuracy with lead gas checked boolits at velocities somewhere between 1600 and 2000 fps at the muzzle. My 10" barrel likes the Lee soup can boolit and my carbine 17" barrel loves the Lee RNGC.

I tried both the Lyman 287346 and the Lee 130 in my 14" 7x30 barrel. Neither performed very well for me. The barrel has a tight throat, but is capable of moa accuracy at 200 yards with jacketed. I may take a look at some of NOE's offerings, or perhaps the RCBS 145 Sil. The Lee FCD is a must with my barrel.

I use the Lee 130gr Soupcan in 7TCU and 7-30 Waters and get very good accuracy. I always use cast when fire-forming new cases and for general shooting.

Gianni that's an incredible offer, man I just wish you were closer and we could make it happen. Should you decide to move let me know. I've had spooky good results with the hornady 130's just never thought to try cast. Now this means I got to get another mould from Al.

Has anyone shot the 7mm Thor, from NOE? I actually have a couple dozen loaded right now, just waiting on a +40` day, with little to no wind, before heading to the range.
With my alloy, they weigh 136.3 lubed and checked.
