Survived, as well. Doc told me the 4 aspirin my wife made me take, before we went to the emergency room, probably saved my life.

Maybe some of us ought to listen to our wives a little more.
I certainly am.

Been there, done that, didn't get the T-shirt.

That is the "LAD" for those that haven't had to learn it.
Left anterior decending artery, AKA 'the widow maker'.

I also took 4 aspirin, bought them at the convenience store
where I was - doc says it prevented serious damage.

All you young folks out there remember that, may come in handy some day.

Congratulations on making it, sir.

Mom failed a stress test, had 90% blockage of her LAD, said without the test she probably would have had a heart attack and died not long after, they put in a stint, she is very healthy now, that was over 10 years ago. The doctor did mention that a blockage there was called "The widow maker". Mom will be 70 this year.

I say all of this to you in the hopes that if you think you might be having a heart attack , you probably are.
And you will take the appropriate action to get to the DR.
There are NO set symptoms for a heart attack,
That is what the DR. told me.

I was at work that Friday morning and started to get heartburn.
Figured it was from drinking too much coffee, took 3 tums and it persisted.
It did feel slightly different but thought since it was 19 degrees that the cold had something to do with it.
Went into office, sat down & drank some more coffee thinking it was the cold.
Only other symptom was shortness of breath.
Was thinking maybe I was having a heart attack, but there were no symptoms of it, like chest pains, arm hurting, etc
Finally it went away & I continued with my job the rest of the day.

Saturday I felt kind of tired, but being 67 I figured it was just age.
Sunday I felt fine & spent the day shopping with wife.
Monday wife kept saying I needed to go see the DR.
Finally gave in and made the appointment for that afternoon.
Doc ran an EKG , and sent my happy little butt to the area hospital.
They in turn sent me in an ambulance to a bigger hospital & took me straight into the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Gave me something so I wouldn't feel anything while doing the procedure.
Woke up later & was told I had a 99% blockage in an artery ( The one they called the Widow Maker).
And had a stent installed.
Doc told me I was very lucky to catch it when they did, there was no damage to my heart.
