Just got thru putting on a new scope for my granddaughter's CVA 50 Cal. Wolf rifle.
Bore sighted it and went to the back yard.
Fired 2 shots. Both hit within 1 inch of each other. Shots were taken at 25 yrds.
Used the same load as I use in my CVA Optima.
90 Gr. of 2F KIK BP, 230 Gr. soft cast lead bullet, MMP Black standard sabot and Winchester 209 primers.
Be nice if both of our rifles liked the same load.

Can't really tell much from just two shot's and the first one is always different because it is the first.

Went back to the range and fired 5 shots at 50 yds. All five shots impacted at same location on target as they did at 25 yds. Could cover all 5 shots with a silver dollar. Happy with this lil' rifle. Now to move back to 100 yds and really get it sighted in.

Sounds like you are really getting there. Not bad at all.

I am looking at getting a Wolf for my son to hunt public land this year. They are the best deal going on ML rifles.

CVA Optima V2's are on sale now for $199 (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/973188/cva-optima-v2-muzzleloading-rifle-with-dead-on-scope-mount-50-caliber-26-blued-barrel-synthetic-stock-black?cm_vc=ProductFinding) and I think they are going to come out with Nitride treated barrels (don't know if they are the ones on sale). I just picked up a used Optima V2 with the plain blued barrel for $160 and it shot nicely with Lee TL-452-230-TC's in a T/C yellow sabot with 80g BH209 and CCI 209M and Fed 209A primers using the standard breech plug with a thin washer/spacer in the primer cup to prevent blowby. Tried 250 REAL's and Shiloh minie's and they didn't shoot worth a darn with the same loads that worked decently with my old Optima Pro. I guess I'll have to do some more experimenting. The good news is that means more shooting :)
