I form 225 copper head from 222 brass. necked up from 224 to 25 cal has any body done this cal using 222 mag or 223 commercial brass ? it seem when I use 222 brass about 50 % of them come up .035 to .060 short on the overall length the gun is a riedel single shot has over a inch of free bore in it. I talked to the grandson of the guy who built it he said most of the rifles they made were wild cats with long freebore's like the early weatherbys

I open up .222 Rem Mag to 6X47 and they get shorter too but they are supposed to be used as is. The only way for me go get longer brass would be to use 5.6X50 Mag.

If you form cases from .223 you would have the best of both worlds. Cheap brass and brass long enough to fit your chamber up to the end of the neck. The long free bore could gotten rid of by setting the barrel back and rechambering.

hi this rifle shoots like a house on fire with the long free bore 100 yds 5 shot group size of a quarter . when I shoot the short brass it doesn't grow much maybe .005 I would just like the brass length to be in spec
